Reflecting 2019 and Looking ahead into 2020

Hello and Happy New Year!

Last year was the launch of my new blog - http://samuelpena.com with the mission to help you become everyone’s favorite Presales engineer. Since the launch, I have released 19 blog posts and have had over 1k unique visitors. Thank you so much for everyone who read, commented and gave feedback on my posts. I am so grateful to have this platform and the opportunity to keep building in 2020.

Looking ahead to 2020, I plan to continue to write about my experiences that I have had as both an individual contributor as well as a leader. As I think about 2020, I will be blogging around four main themes to help structure my advice and thoughts. The four themes will be:

  • Helping someone who is new to presales

  • Tips and Tricks to Build a presales skillset

  • Presales career journey

  • Reader questions and requests

Finally, I do want to share with you all that I will be starting a new role at Pluralsight as VP, North America for Presales. I am excited for this new challenge and plan to write about my experience in running the organization. This role will oversee the solution architect team in North America supporting a multi-product SaaS business. I will be responsible for standardizing the org structure, skillsets and team KPIs across the organization as well as integrating and building skillsets for acquired products and scaling the team for success.
